The ego corner chair was originally inspired by the theatrical play "Freud's Last Session" where C.S. Lewis and Freud discuss religion, politics, music and death. The grand gesture of putting oneself out there for all to see like a peacock is what framed the story of this piece. This video documents the process of it's design.
Inspiration for the chair was derived from contemporary and classic fashion sensibilities. Iconic looks and shapes of men and women's clothing set the tone of the piece and the ultimate aesthetic touch.
Mockups that began at 1/5 scale to test a variety of corner chiar ideations became a pivotal part of the development process. Transitioning to fullscale mock-ups helped to define final direction, shape and aesthetic.
